ICTS Event– “Performing Restistance Cultures: Celebrating & Connecting Creative Narratives of Algeria and Ireland” (30 May@MIC & 2 Jun@SugarClubDublin)
The Irish Centre for Transnational Studies cordially invites you to the Restistance Cultures Festival which takes place over the course of two days in Limerick (30 May, Newman Hall, Mary Immaculate College) and Dublin (2 June, The Sugar Club). The festival features rare screenings, discussions and performances connecting Algerian and Irish anti-colonial histories.
The event is curated by Martin Evans (Sussex University), Mairéad Ní Bhriain (MIC, Limerick), Dónal Hassett (Maynooth University), Aoife Connolly (TU Dublin), and Orfhlaith Ní Bhriain (UL, Limerick).
Expert panelists include Rosemary Day, Michael Finneran, Sarah El Hamed, Tommy Fegan, Ailbhe Kenny, Nadja Makhlouf, Richard McMahon, Orfhlaith Ní Bhriain; and it features the renowned Algerian & Irish Performers Niamh Dunne, Paul Harrigan, AKLI D. & Dermot Sheedy.
